Mom's Fresh Tomato Sauce With Peas Recipe

During my years of a child mom didn't have alot of money.
She told me that grandma made this in the depression days.
We also didn't have alot of money growing up as kids, just mom raising us,  so we ate this alot too and  I still love it. Good memories.  Thanks Grandma.



Adapted from Grandma's Original Recipe and Mom's

In a food processor add :
3 cloves of cleaned garlic
1/2 cup fresh celery leaves
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Puree till a fine mixture.

In a large deep sauce pan, add the oil mixture, heat, add:
2 (14 to 15 oz size) cans of pea's, saute pea's till starting to brown.

Add:
1/2 teaspoon each, parsley, basil, garlic powder, oregano
1 small can of tomato paste + fill can with white wine to stir out the leftover paste
1 can of chicken broth
1 cup water
1 cup of fresh whole tomatoes or fresh plum tomatoes pureed in food processor

Cook until sauce thickens around 1 1/2 hours on low.

Use this over your favorite pasta cooked to package directions.

Curt's Pancake Recipe with Uncle Luke's Secret Apple Topping

One of my favorite cut out cookies and those soft loft cookies you find in almost every supermarket decorated for whatever holiday theme is going on. You can make Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, anything you want. These are just a great dough so versatile to work with. Kids love these cookies and often eat all the frosting off before the cookie, you may know someone just like that! The frosting is buttery and delicious along with the cookies.
